We are hosting a Simulcast for Pastor David Platt’s Secret Church simulcast this year. We invite you to join us. We did this last year and it was a blessing.
Secret Church is a 6 hour intense set of teaching and preaching on a chosen subject – this year the topic is:
The Cross and Everyday Life
From the moment we wake up in the morning to the moment we lie down to sleep at night, how does the death of Christ on the cross transform every single detail of our day? How does the cross compel daily disciplines like prayer and Bible reading or a regular routine of fasting and worship? How does the cross change the way we view our jobs and vocations throughout the day as well as the way we rest and relax at the end of the day? What, if any, unique effect does the cross have on the ways we spend our time, set our priorities, make our decisions, and love our neighbors? How does the cross change the way we view food and exercise, sports and entertainment in this world? The Bible says, “Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). So how do we do that? And how does the cross of Christ inevitably enable us to do that? During this Secret Church, as we explore the implications of the death of Christ for our daily lives, we will discover the exhilarating joy that is found in following Jesus to the glory of God on a moment-by-moment, day-by-day basis.

When: Friday April 18, 2014 (Good Friday) from 6:30 PM – 1AM (6:30PM arrive, get some food, find a seat and get ready. The praise and preaching start at 7PM)
How Much: The simulcast registration (for the simulcast license and for the study guide to follow along with) will cost roughly $8 – $11 per person depending on how many sign up. There will be a suggested donation of $8 per person to help defray these costs. If you cannot afford this – please still show up and enjoy the simulcast.
Food: We will have some snacks and drinks available and people brought some food pot luck style. If you would like to also bring a dish, snack or treat to share please feel free to. There are breaks through out the event.
What To Expect: There is a time of praise music and prayer at the start. This is followed by a pretty intense series of preaching sessions on this year’s topic. The study guide was around 200 pages last year and there are a lot of blanks to fill in and follow along with.
RSVP: Please use this link to RSVP. We will cap attendance to somewhere around 40-50 and will go to a waitlist around 45 registrations.
Miscellaneous Info:
The chairs are folding chairs – so please feel free to bring pillows for comfort and dress comfortable for the 6 hours.
If you can only be there for a segment or have to leave early please still consider signing up. The process is best in its entirety and it is a little tough to catch up showing up late – especially in the middle of a segment after he starts going – but we won’t kick you out or look at you funny.
There will be no child care available and this is appropriate for teens and above. You can see what he will be preaching about on the site. The content is appropriate and Biblical but the speed is fast.
Please RSVP on eventbrite at this link so we can ensure we have the right setup. We will probably waitlist this somewhere around 40-45 people.
