WAKEFIELD: Union Village Community Association Director Dick House announces the Annual Union Village Fall Festival, to be held on September 15, 2012, from noon to 5 PM at Heritage Park in Union. “We’re excited to have Nice & Naughty return to our stage. This year they’ll be joined by two other groups.” said House. Cheryl Sager and Peg Chaffee , the Nice & Naughty duo, play original music ranging from the whimsical to the poignant, delighting audiences with their exquisite harmonies. Mark Newton & Nancy Frizzell will also appear, providing a mixture of jazz and popular harmonies.
Activities for the event include the famous Union Village Cake Walks (think musical chairs with a cake for a prize), a number of local vendors of food and crafts, and an Antique & Hotrod Car Show. Face painting, costume creation and a children’s costume parade will entertain young and old. The 50/50 raffle will benefit the non-profit Union Village Community Association, and donations will also be accepted at the gate.
Wakefield authorities have once again agreed to allow one end of Chapel Street to be blocked off, allowing the Heritage Park space to extend across the street to the Greater Wakefield Resource Center for the event. Parking for the festival will be at the Resource Center and along Main Street.
The restored Union Train Station Museum and freight house (now the Wakefield Heritage Center) will also be open during the event.
