The septic inspection was this past Monday in the pouring rain. The man that came out is from the same company the town had hired while they owned the property. He told us we have an “old school” stone and pipe system. In his opinion this is the “cadillac” of septic systems?? He saw no signs of damage and said with proper maintenance, these systems can last “forever”. Thankfully, the town was very consistent with maintenance over the years.
Since we were having such heavy rains that day, Mike decided to go in the building just to see if any water was making it’s way in. Everything appeared dry!
We’ve been scouring Craig’s list for materials and whatnot for the schoolhouse. We found a restored early 1900’s McPhail upright piano at a great price. It will need to be tuned once we get it in the schoolhouse but otherwise, it is in perfect working order. Anyone interested in offering piano lessons at the schoolhouse??
The next Planning Board meeting is Thursday, May 17. Hopefully we’ll leave that meeting with a conditional use permit in hand so we can finalize this purchase! Something to pray for.
We continue to be blessed by your encouragement and excitement about this project! Thank you 🙂
Mike,
I hate to be pendatic (ok I love to be pendatic), but if the septic system will never die, wouldn’t it be the Buick of septic systems? If it had some high tech feature that always broke, then it would be the Cadillac of septic systems.
Seriously, though I went through 12 years of Catholic school and I’m on my high schools advancement committee. I’m a big fan of all forms of private education. Keep doing what you guys are doing!
Thanks, Justin
