Age 4-10 5:30pm- 6:30pm followed by Age 11-adult 6:45pm- 7:45pm (adult students wishing to train alongside their child aged 4-10 may opt to join that class instead)
Tuition is per month. $40 for one student per month. Family discounts (for parents and siblings) are as follows: two students $65 per month – three students $85 per month – four or more students $100 per month.
Uniforms are required for this class. Any weight is suitable for small kids. The heavier the weight the longer they will last. For the older class, I suggest either Medium or Heavy Weight as it is a more hands on class in which the students would be more likely to tear a light weight uniform.
Light weight uniforms are $35.
Medium weight uniforms are $45.
Heavy weight uniforms are $60.School patches are optional and are $10. They should be worn on the left chest of the uniform.
Only a white gi (uniform) can be worn by a student.
Equipment:
Coaching mits for the younger class are optional but are a wonderful piece of training equipment. Coaching mits are $50.
The only required equipment for the older class are training sticks and a training knife. The package for the two is $30. Again, coaching mits are not required but suggested.
Of course, there are a plethora of other equipment and training tool options but none of them are required. If you have any questions about any of them, please feel free to ask. Due to insurance reasons, no outside equipment is allowed in class unless inspected and approved by an instructor.
Rank advancement:
There is no way to tell how long it will take for an individual to advance through a particular rank. Typically, the younger classes will advance every 2-6 months. The older class can take anywhere from 3-18 months per rank depending on the dedication of the student and the difficulty of the material. There are no formal tests for rank. Rank is awarded by the instructor when the student is ready. A fee of $25 is due before rank advancement in order to cover the cost of the belt and certificate.
