Geneology presentation scheduled for Tuesday, November 11, from 2:00 – 4:00. This presentation targets primarily older children (maybe 6th grade and up) through adults. Younger children are welcome. This is a wonderful and enlightening presentation; you won’t want to miss it. There is no charge for the presentation but if you wish to contribute to help cover Don’s gas expenses, there will be a basket. PLEASE leave a comment or contact Palmer Watson if you plan to attend!
details from previous post:
Don Barber, has put together an informative, fresh view of the generations with a ceiling to floor display that offers so many “Aha” moments. He builds this as he discusses the generations and highlights their meaning. I have long been interested in this topic and this was an exciting talk to hear. I would like to know if there is interest, and if so what time of day would work best for families.
The Genealogies of Genesis:
Genuine History
The most published book in history is also an accurate history book.
This presentation focuses on two ancient lists of names found in Genesis. See what those lists have to say about the history of the world, the history of mankind, the history of God’s relationship with His creation, and the history of God’s relationship with you.
Aided by a 10′ by 6′ hanging chart you will:
● Study the first 22 generations of human history.
● See how the Bible can be trusted as an oral tradition.
● Discover how the Bible is an eye witness written tradition.
● See and hear the salvation story.
● Consider the difference between Lamech and Lamech and
the difference between Enoch and Enoch.
● See when the flood happened and its effects on history.
● See how sin changed everything.
● Be reminded of what God asks of us.
● See where nations originated.
● See who knew more generations of relatives than anyone else.
We speak of what we know, and testify to what we have seen, and you do not receive our witness. If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? (John 3:11-12)
Come be reminded of some “earthly things” so that through faith you may see anew some “heavenly things.”
What some have Said:
“If he did nothing else but come and build the chart, there are so many lessons that leap out from that alone!”
“The long, boring lists of names and years turn our faith from murky legend or myth to the logical, reasonable, concrete base of our faith.
The math is there, the science is there, the history is there, the linguistics is there.”
“Historical facts meet spiritual truths.”
